DIRECTIONS →OVERVIEW
Opened in 1913 during Juneau's mining boom and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Alaskan Hotel and Bar survived years as a brothel before its restoration and is the oldest continuously operating hotel in Southeast Alaska.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Guests and staff describe a woman seen sitting on beds or standing at the foot of Room 315, tied to a local story of a woman who turned to prostitution and died on the property; in 2007, Juneau police responding to screams from a locked Room 315 found a guest who had gone through the window, an incident local media covered without a clear explanation.
