A hollow of woods and creek off Sterrettania and Thomas Roads in Millcreek Township, Erie County, known since at least the 1960s as Axe Murder Hollow. The Erie Reader went looking for the crime behind the name and found none: no murder on the police or newspaper record, only the story.

Rural land on the edge of the city; a lovers' lane by the 1950s, which is where such stories start.
