OVERVIEW
A brick Victorian lighthouse built in 1875 on the Mohegan Bluffs of Block Island, and famously moved 245 feet inland in 1993 to save it from cliff erosion. It is a National Historic Landmark and operates as a museum.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Island lore tells of "Mad Maggie," a spirit said to trouble male visitors with locked doors, shaken beds, and thrown objects, while leaving women alone; no historical record confirms the underlying story.
VISITING
Open seasonally as a museum with tower tours.
