OVERVIEW

Boston's third-oldest cemetery, established in 1660 and named for the grain building that once stood nearby; it holds Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and the five victims of the 1770 Boston Massacre, with far more burials than surviving markers.

REPORTED ACTIVITY

Visitors report shadow figures moving between the headstones, drifting lights and orbs, and occasional full-figure apparitions among the closely packed graves.

VISITING

Open to the public daily as a Freedom Trail site.
