OVERVIEW

A four-story Sioux quartzite hotel built in 1888 near the historic pipestone quarries, once billed among the grandest hotels in the state. It survived a fire in 1944.

REPORTED ACTIVITY

Reports center on "Charlie," associated with a traveling salesman who died in the 1944 fire; guests and staff describe a figure in old-fashioned dress, and appliances, phones, and televisions behaving strangely, especially around Room 308.
