OVERVIEW

A colonial house built around 1765, named for a cannonball still embedded in its foundation from the British Royal Navy's 1813 bombardment of Lewes; it now serves as the Lewes Historical Society's maritime museum.

REPORTED ACTIVITY

Visitors and tour guides describe a sea captain's apparition on the upper floor, along with cold drafts and footsteps, and recount the story of a young woman named Susan said to have died there after her skirts caught fire at the hearth.

VISITING
