Charlie Red Star
FOLLOWCarman, MB
DIRECTIONS →OVERVIEW
A farming town southwest of Winnipeg that became the centre of one of North America's largest and best-witnessed UFO waves, beginning with sightings in February 1975 and running through 1976.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
A pulsing red light with an apparent dome was reported on an almost nightly basis from May 1975; so many people parked along the gravel roads that traffic jams formed, and local merchants advertised that "Charlie Red Star shops here." Researcher Grant Cameron documented the flap at length.
VISITING
A public town; the sighting areas are working farmland along rural roads.
