OVERVIEW
A 26-room frame house built in 1883 by the French nobleman Marquis de Mores as a summer home and hunting lodge; he founded the town of Medora, naming it for his wife. Now a state historic site preserved with many original furnishings.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Staff and visitors report a female apparition often linked to Medora de Mores, lights that switch on in the empty house, cold spots, and a sense of caretakers still at work.
VISITING
Open to the public seasonally as a state historic site.
