FOLLOWNew Albany, IN
DIRECTIONS →OVERVIEW
Completed in 1869 for William Culbertson, once considered the richest man in Indiana, the 20,000-square-foot Second Empire mansion is preserved today as a State Historic Site.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Staff and volunteers report self-closing doors, footsteps on empty upper floors, and unexplained figures and electrical disturbances in the carriage house; some later "haunted house" backstories were invented for a fundraising attraction and are not part of the documented history.
VISITING
Open to the public for daytime tours as a State Historic Site.
