OVERVIEW
A stone tower built around 1910 by Cuban-American sugar magnate Manuel Rionda on his Rio Vista estate, reportedly so his wife Harriet could see New York across the Hudson; it functioned as an ornate water tower for the grounds.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Local legend, largely a 20th-century invention, claims Harriet's ghost can be summoned by circling the tower at midnight; the site gained its "Devil's Tower" nickname through decades of trespassing and folklore.
