The Dwayyo
FOLLOWFrederick, MD
DIRECTIONS →OVERVIEW
A hairy, wolf-like creature of Frederick County lore, sometimes said to walk upright, cast as the Snallygaster's rival. It entered the record in late 1965 when the Frederick News-Post ran a series of articles on a resident's claimed backyard encounter.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
The 1965 accounts describe a bear-sized, black-haired animal that growled and reared up; police could not verify the story, and later sightings have circulated around the county's wooded ridges.
