OVERVIEW

A 49-foot covered bridge over Gold Brook, built in 1844 and the only surviving 19th-century covered bridge in Stowe. It is widely known as "Emily's Bridge."

REPORTED ACTIVITY

Legend tells of "Emily," a jilted bride said to have died at the bridge; the story spread after a 1968 Ouija-board session, and visitors report scratches, voices, and shapes on and around the span. One local woman has claimed she invented the tale to scare youths.
