Fort King George
FOLLOWScarborough, Tobago
DIRECTIONS →OVERVIEW
Built by the British from 1777 above Scarborough, the fort changed hands between British and French forces repeatedly before the island settled under British control in 1793. The powder magazine, officers' quarters and bell tank survive, and the site holds the Tobago Museum.
HISTORY
Tobago changed hands more often than almost any other Caribbean island — over thirty times by some counts.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
The grounds carry local reports of figures near the magazine. They are anecdotal.
