Fourth Avenue Theatre
FOLLOWAnchorage, AK
DIRECTIONS →OVERVIEW
Built between 1941 and 1947 by Austin "Cap" Lathrop, a leading figure in early 20th-century Alaska business, the Fourth Avenue Theatre is an Art Deco landmark that stood through the catastrophic 1964 Good Friday earthquake that devastated much of downtown Anchorage and remains a fixture of the city today.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Longtime employees and visitors describe a male figure seen in the balcony and projection booth, cold spots, and footsteps in unused areas, activity many locals attribute to Lathrop continuing to watch over his theatre.
