Sachs Covered Bridge
FOLLOWGettysburg, PA
DIRECTIONS →OVERVIEW
A 100-foot Town-truss covered bridge over Marsh Creek southwest of town, built about 1854; both Union and Confederate forces used the crossing, and it carried part of the Confederate retreat after July 3, 1863.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Popular legend claims deserters were hanged from its rafters, though no historical record supports this; visitors report footsteps, cold spots, disembodied voices, and lantern-like lights on the bridge at night.
VISITING
A preserved historic bridge open to pedestrians.
