Historic Anchorage Hotel
FOLLOWAnchorage, AK
DIRECTIONS →OVERVIEW
Opened in 1916 as tent-city Anchorage's first hotel, the property anchors downtown; the city's first Chief of Police, John "Jack" Sturgus, was found fatally shot a block away in 1921 in a case that was never solved.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Staff keep a guest-contributed "ghost log" of reported activity; recurring accounts describe a "Lady in White," footsteps and voices in rooms 215 and 217, and reports of Sturgus retracing his final steps near the anniversary of his death.
VISITING
An operating hotel open to the public.
