Key West Lighthouse
FOLLOWKey West, FL
DIRECTIONS →OVERVIEW
A lighthouse first lit in 1826 and rebuilt inland after the 1846 Havana Hurricane destroyed the original tower, killing keeper Barbara Mabrity's family and others sheltering inside; Mabrity kept the light until 1864, and the site is now a museum with the keeper's quarters.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Visitors report a woman climbing the tower stairs and vanishing near the top, along with unexplained footsteps and temperature shifts, long associated with Mabrity.
VISITING
Open to the public as a museum; visitors may climb the tower.
