A limestone penitentiary on the Lake Ontario shore that held Canada's most notorious offenders from 1835 until its closure in 2013, now operated as a public tour site with accounts from former guards.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
The best-known reported presence is inmate George Hewell, who died in 1897 reportedly vowing vengeance; guides and visitors describe footsteps, voices and cold spots in the cellblocks and the dome.
