OVERVIEW

On June 25–26, 1876, Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho warriors defending their families and treaty lands defeated Lt. Col. George Custer's 7th Cavalry along the Little Bighorn River. The site is preserved by the National Park Service and includes the Indian Memorial honoring the Native nations who fought here, alongside markers for the soldiers who died.

REPORTED ACTIVITY

The battlefield carries a long tradition of reported apparitions and unexplained sounds recounted by staff and visitors; it is best understood first as a place of history and remembrance rather than spectacle.

VISITING

Open to the public as a National Park Service site with a visitor center and memorials.
