OVERVIEW

Maple Hill Cemetery, founded in 1822, is Huntsville's oldest and largest burial ground with more than 80,000 graves, including numerous children who died in the 1918 influenza epidemic buried near a city park playground on its edge.

REPORTED ACTIVITY

Visitors describe swings moving with no one on them and orbs or child-like figures reported after dark near the playground; the cemetery itself draws separate reports of apparitions among the older sections.

VISITING

The cemetery and adjoining park are open to the public during posted hours.
