OVERVIEW

A roadside attraction on Sardine Creek built around an old mining assay office that slid off its foundation; developed by engineer John Litster and opened to visitors in 1930, it is considered the first documented mystery spot / gravity hill in the U.S.

REPORTED ACTIVITY

Visitors report balls appearing to roll uphill and people seeming to change height depending on where they stand; scientists attribute the effects to optical illusions on a tilted site, while the operators frame them as unexplained.

VISITING

Open to the public seasonally with guided tours.
