A stone summer house built by merchant John Wister in what is now Germantown; during the 1777 Battle of Germantown, British General James Agnew was carried inside mortally wounded and died in the front parlor, where a stain in the floorboards is still shown to visitors.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Legend holds that General Agnew's spirit remains; staff and guests also report a servant named Justina, who died in the 1793 yellow-fever epidemic, and the smell of freshly baked bread.
