OVERVIEW
The Stierchen is a stone bridge over the Alzette from the middle of the 15th century. It is part of the Wenzel Wall, which brought the Grund and the Rham into the defensive ring of the city of Luxembourg.
HISTORY
The bridge belongs to the walls of the Fortress of Luxembourg, which grew around the city from the Middle Ages until its fortifications were demolished after 1867.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Wikipedia's list of reportedly haunted locations records the Pont du Stierchen as said to be haunted by the Stierches-geescht, a shape-shifting ghost said to physically assault drunkards. The same list records other Luxembourg legends — Falkenstein at Vianden, Fort Rheinsheim and the woods of Lenningen — for which no further source was found in this pass.
VISITING
The bridge is in the Grund, in the lower town of Luxembourg City.
