OVERVIEW
A working ranch in Utah's Uintah Basin that became the focus of formal paranormal study: it was investigated in the 1990s and 2000s by the National Institute for Discovery Science, funded by aerospace entrepreneur Robert Bigelow, and was purchased in 2016 by businessman Brandon Fugal. It is the subject of the book "Hunt for the Skinwalker" (2005) by Colm Kelleher and journalist George Knapp, and of the History Channel series "The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch." Its name derives from the Navajo (Diné) figure of the yee naaldlooshii; the area also carries long-standing Ute oral tradition, and the property sits near the Ute reservation.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Investigators, researchers, and prior owners have reported lights and craft in the sky, unexplained animal deaths, electromagnetic anomalies, and equipment malfunctions; the History Channel series documents ongoing scientific monitoring of the property.
VISITING
A private, gated, and monitored property that is not open to the public; it can be viewed only from surrounding public roads.
