Squire's Castle
FOLLOWWilloughby Hills, OH
DIRECTIONS →OVERVIEW
The surviving gatehouse of a planned country estate begun around 1895 by Standard Oil executive Feargus B. Squire in what is now North Chagrin Reservation; the manor house itself was never constructed.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
A local legend holds that Squire's wife, Louisa, fell to her death inside after being startled by hunting trophies, though records show she died elsewhere years later; visitors nonetheless report a red lantern light and a female figure near the ruin.
