DIRECTIONS →OVERVIEW
Founded in 1851 by Dr. George Story as a logging community, the town of Story declined after railroads bypassed it and nearly vanished during the Great Depression; its surviving general-store building was restored as the Story Inn.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Guests staying in the Blue Lady Room, above the old store, have logged hundreds of guestbook accounts of a woman believed to be Dr. Story's wife, described with striking blue eyes and the smell of cherry tobacco.
