OVERVIEW
An 86-foot Town-lattice covered bridge over Pidcock Creek near Washington Crossing in Solebury Township, built in 1875 and still carrying traffic; on the National Register.
HISTORY
One of Bucks County's twelve surviving covered bridges; maintained by the county.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
The bridge's tradition — a woman who drowned with her child, horse thieves hanged from the beams, a baby heard crying, figures seen inside at night — is told on the county's ghost tours and in the Bucks County Courier Times. None of the deaths is on record; the tradition is old and persistent.
VISITING
A public road bridge; pull off safely. Popular at Halloween.
