DIRECTIONS →OVERVIEW
A small settlement and roadhouse between Alice Springs and Tennant Creek. Reports of unusual lights in the sky here are said to date from the Second World War, when troops were stationed nearby, and the roadhouse has collected and displayed accounts for decades.
HISTORY
The site keeps a logbook of sightings and its buildings are painted accordingly.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
The concentration of reports at a single roadhouse on a very dark, very straight desert highway invites obvious explanations, and the roadhouse has a commercial interest in the reputation. Recorded because the reports are long-running and locally documented.
VISITING
Roadhouse on the Stuart Highway; services have been intermittent in recent years.
