OVERVIEW

The Zemu Glacier lies below Kangchenjunga in North Sikkim, India. In 1925 the photographer N. A. Tombazi, a member of the Royal Geographical Society, wrote that he saw a creature there at about 15,000 feet.

HISTORY

Tombazi watched it for about a minute at 200 to 300 yards: 'Unquestionably, the figure in outline was exactly like a human being, walking upright and stopping occasionally to pull at some dwarf rhododendron bushes. It showed up dark against the snow, and as far as I could make out, wore no clothes.' About two hours later his party found prints 6 to 7 inches long and 4 wide, which he judged those of a biped.

REPORTED ACTIVITY

LEGEND. One of the earliest detailed Western Yeti reports. Yeti footprints in general have been interpreted as those of bears.
