OVERVIEW

Originally Lawler Ford Road, a 19th-century access route to the Meramec River later used by railroad crews; long known locally as "Zombie Road," it was paved in 2010 as the Rock Hollow Trail within the Great Rivers Greenway.

REPORTED ACTIVITY

A local legend since at least the 1950s; stories tie the corridor to a wandering figure and to Della Hamilton McCullough, killed by a train near here in 1876, and visitors describe shadow figures and voices after dark.

VISITING

Open as a public trail during daylight; it closes at sunset and after-hours trespassing is fined.
