A silver vase said to have been made in the 15th century and found in 1988 near Naples with a note inside reading 'Beware… this vase brings death.' No museum, auction or archive record of the vase, the note or the find has been found, and its whereabouts are unknown.

REPORTED ACTIVITY

LEGEND, UNSUBSTANTIATED. A bride near Naples is said to have been murdered on her wedding night holding the vase, which then killed each later owner. Every retelling found — blogs, podcasts, listicles — repeats the story without a source, and they disagree on how and when the bride died. Searched 2026-10-07; no primary record.
