THE OBJECT
A globe of transparent rock crystal 'about the size of a small apple' (antiquarian James Simpson), the charm-stone of the Robertsons, Clan Donnachaidh. It is kept in the Clan Donnachaidh Museum at Bruar, near Pitlochry, opened in 1969.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
Said to have been found by Duncan Ard in 1315 on his way to Bannockburn. It was believed to heal illness in people and animals and to have clairvoyant powers: if it clouded over, it foretold ill-fortune in battle (Wikipedia). Clan tradition also says it cracked before the 1715 Jacobite rising — not recorded here, because no source for it was read.
WHERE IT IS NOW
On public display — kept by Clan Donnachaidh Society. Clan Donnachaidh Museum, Bruar, Perthshire, United Kingdom.

Year-level. The museum opened in 1969; that the stone was there from the opening is not stated, hence 'possible'. Earlier keepers — the chiefs of Struan — are not dated in the sources read.
