Letta ('Letta Me Out')
FOLLOWprivate home, Warwick, QLD, Australia
THE OBJECT
A wooden, fully articulated doll about the size of a small child, with real hair and a marionette-like face. Kerry Walton found it in 1972 in the crawl space of a derelict house in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, while in town for his grandmother's funeral, and drove it home to Brisbane. The family now lives in Warwick, Queensland, and takes the doll to public appearances.
REPORTED ACTIVITY
The name comes from a joke on the drive home that the doll was calling 'letta me out' from the sack. Walton reports it moving, scuff marks appearing on its shoes and dogs reacting to it. Claims that it is 200 years old or of Romanian origin are the owner's and have not been examined.
